Was looking for a new primary car doctor. FOUND HIM!

I went in for an oil change. They were really busy so they offered to give me a ride home while I waited for my car. Inexpensive and very welcoming and nice.

You know, I really wanted to like these guys, but after my experience, I will not be returning and I felt that I should warn others who want to use this establishment. My van would not start and the guy at AAA said it may be my fuel pump. So after scrambling to find the money for the repair, I took it to Honest 1 and explained what happened and made an appointment to have my van towed in. Well, after an entire day at the shop, they called me and told me that it wasn't the fuel pump, but something else and they wouldn't know until the next day. Of course, I would still be paying for the fuel pump replacement at the cost of about $1100. And now I would have to rent a car. And oh yeah, since I live in my van, I'm going to have to sleep in the car I rent. Great. Well, they found out the ACTUAL problem (which was only a $250 fix) repaired it and gave me a discount on labor so I'd only pay about $100 over what the fuel pump cost. Annoying, but whatever, they DID replace my fuel pump at my request. Of course, I'm not a mechanic, and I only said fuel pump bc the guy who came to jump my car said that's what it could be. Honest 1 didn't even bother running a diagnostic test until AFTER the fuel pump was replaced. This wasn't even the worst part. I go to pick up my van and I notice that a joint I had in the front console of my van was missing. So yeah, one of their employees, who could CLEARLY see I live in the van they're fixing, STEALS a $20 joint I had in the front console of my car. Like, bruh, you think I won't notice that? And of course, bc I live in my van, I had to search through everything to make sure nothing else was taken. I called honest 1 and told them something was stolen only to get a response of "our guys wouldn't do that" Uhhhh, yeah they would. Terrible. Save your money and go somewhere else.

My car ended up being in the shop for 14 DAYS here when i was supposed to have it back that same day. It was having trouble starting and they misdiagnosed it at least 3-4 times. Kurt was helpful and worked with carmax to try to get everything covered under my warranty, but I don't think the mechanics(Paul) are competent enough to fix bmws here. Everyday for like the first week I was told I would have it back the next day. They ended up having to take it to a different mechanic to fix it. I'm now taking it to the actual bmw dealership tomorrow because after having it back for about 2 weeks my car has been burning thru fuel...the last diagnosis was a fuel pump which I they said their mechanic actually broke a seal when putting it in? Noticed today it's leaking fuel like crazy and wasn't before and mileage is shit now. My service engine popped back on right away but they acted like it wasn't a big deal and turned it off. I will never take my car here again. Super disappointed after not having a car for this long you think they would have had it fully sorted out for me. Waste of time energy and money. Talked to Brad the owner who was rude and unhelpful. Will never take my car here again and no longer trust this shop!!!! UPDATE*** I took it to the dealership and had to pay over $600 because honest auto pinched the fuel pump cover gasket. At least I got my car back the next morning, with peace of mind....but this shop honestly should change their name!!!! You are not honest and you clearly have no integrity or pride in your business, I was more than patient and nice with you the entire two weeks. Had I just pulled it from your shop and taken it elsewhere i wouldn't of had to pay more than double. Also Brad, for you to hang up on me because you couldn't handle the truth(or maybe the guilt) was beyond unprofessional. To then get my car back and have it be leaking fuel when it wasn't before was completely fucked and you should understand why I wouldn't trust taking it back to your shop again due to the previous circumstances. I had a pulsation in the brake pedal. Honest 1 inspected my brakes and described the exact measurements remaining on my brake rotors and pads. They also gave me my options for different repairs and suggestions. Thats what a good mechanic does. We made a decision and I had my car back in a few hours. Nice guys, you'll be happy you came here. We recommend them highly.

Honest 1 in Costa Mesa is top notch. The owner of this business sure knows what he is doing. This is how all businesses should run but seldom do. Taking care of the customer with great service, honesty,and a clean, comfortable environment. Good work and fair prices. Will return.

Came here for the first time for an oil change and was helped out my Kurt (not sure if is spelled his name correctly or even if i got the name right) but the customer service here is beyond expectation. They call u when your vehicle is finished and send u a text with pictures of items that need replacement, along with minor suggestions if necessary. They don't try and hard sell you anything either. I highly recommend!

Quick and easy. Professional to a tee. I'm a mechanic myself on disability and would take it nowhere else!
