I have held off on commenting on this business because I really thought we found the perfect mechanic. With a name like Honest 1 we thought they held up to their name. Unfortunately we were scammed out of $275 for a simple oil change and a fuse! We went in to have freon put in for my ac. It worked, but just didn't get cold. They said it would be $58 to check for leaks. Evidently this is a law. I'm okay with this of course. Although I should have checked around because we found several other mechanics that charge approximately $15 on average to do this. They sent me home with everything saying it all worked. The only thing that worked was the fuse. The oil change, I have my doubts now. But the only thing that makes me think they may have done it is all the parts were not put back properly. My tire was hitting a plastic piece from not properly attaching it. My ac?! What a joke!!!! It didn't work. They came up with excuses about how it blows out. The thing is, now it was emitting hot air. At least before it had cool air. I don't know what they did, but when I told them it didn't work, they said the compressor must be broken! Well why didn't they check to see if this worked before putting freon in?!!! I'm livid!!! They said it would now be $1000 for a compressor! I called around other mechanics and was told we were ripped off! Why would someone charge us for fixing our ac unit and not fix it and charge us $275?! We will never go back, nor will we ever recommend them. We are telling everyone in our networks about this! So angry and disappointed! I got my compressor done for $600. This included freon that was evidently never even put in our car!!! Comment from Brad M. of Honest-1 Auto Care Business Owner 9/8/2017We did our best to provide you with the best service and advise possible. Your visit was not just for an oil change and fuse, but included the evacuating and recharging your system, freon and shrader valves. Your fuse was free and we repaired your door for free. We did also perform a leak test and no leaks were found. Your air was blowing at 48 degrees when you left the shop. I certainly hope you now have working AC and great warrantied service. Read more
